Whaddup, peeps! I just finished this workout and my hands are shaking as I type this. Getting back into shape after baby is HARD, but I want hard abs, so I figure one doesn't come without the other. Sigh. Here's a quick (about 40 minute) workout that will have you screaming my name. I like that.
You will pick a speed on the treadmill in which you CANNOT carry on a conversation. This should not be a leisurely jog for you. I know that I picked the right speed (6.0 mph) for me, because I nearly barfed at the end. Eventually, this number should change to 7.0 mph for me, when my jiggle in the middle goes down.
Of course, if you are doing this workout at home, your run intervals can be done outside!
If you or your gym doesn't have a kettlebell, a dumbbell works just as well. Pick a challenging weight- I'd suggest at least 10 pounds. Always keep your gaze forward and your back straight when you complete kettlebell swings- check out more info on kettlebells (including a 2-minute video) here!
Planks and push ups can be done on the knees (especially my fellow post partum mommas out there).
Go forth and sweat, my friends!

So would you do 10 minutes at (say 6mph)... then move onto 30 kettlebell swings, then 30 second plank, then 30 pushups, and start all over?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds pretty intense considering you JUST HAD A BABY! Thats some serious shit right there! You should be PROUD you accomplished that. Im fit and havemt just had a baby and I feel neasous just reading about this! lol.
Hi April! I did the entire treadmill interval at once (I gave myself a 1 minute break in between them). Sorry, should have specified that. That being said, the way that you wrote it would be an amazing workout, too!!! And yes, I am proud! Wooooooooooooo!
DeleteOMG I'm doing this tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. You are definitely one crazy mutha...
ReplyDeleteHahaha thanks, Sarah!! Let me know for shizzle.
Delete4 more weeks until I'll be able to hit the gym full swing after having my third little man. This sounds intense, but I'm going to save and try!! Love your page and the motivation. Nice to know I won't be the only mama trying hard to get her body back. :)
