About Me

My Photo
I am a teacher, fitness/yoga instructor, runner, celebrity stalker, chocolate lover, embarrassing dancer, wine guzzler, can't-live-without-my-girlfriends kind of girl. I also have a collection of high heels that strongly outweighs my collection of runners. My goal is to find balance in my life through health and exercise- and when I say balance, I mean kicking ass in the gym and enjoying food, wine, family, friends, and basking in celebrity news. I hope you can help me in my journey and I hope that you, too can find balance!

Titika Activewear's Newest Advocate!

This was me on my way to my interview at Titika Activewear last week!

Pick me! Pick me!
I wore my finest heels, got my hair did (um... by me), and I was off.

Titika is a Toronto-based company that has blossomed in the last two years after Courtney and Eileen met in school. They opened their first store in the Beaches and they've since expanded to Oakville and Don Mills, and are also in Sporting Life!

I'll do you proud!

I was thrilled when meeting with Courtney and she offered me a chance to become an advocate for Titika. To be an advocate is to be someone who embodies a fit, healthy, active lifestyle and believe in their motto- "Inspired by Life". To wear their clothing while working out, teaching yoga, fitness, or dance is going to be fabulous and I am thrilled to be a part of the team!

As your newest advocate, I promise to not embarrass you. Often.

Titika also offers an AMAZING rewards program! Offering 30% off to any who apply who are:
  • Fitness Instructors
  • Pilates instructors
  • Personal Trainers
  • Dance Instructors
  • Yoga Instructors
  • Professional Sports trainers
As someone who lives in active wear, I have to say that this is a huge incentive to purchase clothing from there. Check out their new Online Store to shop online!

My newest addition is the Double Crossback Tank! I could wear this to yoga, kickboxing... or to the club.

Don't mind the sweat. Why do I take photos AFTER I've worked out?
Note to self: wear makeup.

I celebrated my amazing news by gaining about 5 pounds in one week.

Tomi Kro's Butter Chicken. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my computer.

Um... I'll have a tiny bit of dessert.
Homemade lemonade and a Barbecued Yam at Taste of the Danforth. Hellllllls yes.
Then, we got poured on. Don't worry, my friends. I finished that Yam.
We sought refuge from the rain with a patio and a caesar. Not pictured: Poutine and Ice Cream. Go big or go home.

We then went to see the Tribe Called Quest Movie. I told Carter to look badass. He's a great actor.
The movie was really busy.
Carter made me get these.
You see, a life of moderation is really key.

No wonder I wanted to barf at kickboxing this morning.

1. How do you balance celebrations with your healthy lifestyle?
I struggle big time with this- I love to indulge. Probably not what I'm supposed to say on this fitness blog- but it's true. I love a huge piece of cake. And then seconds. I love a massive frozen cocktail. I love pizza. And chocolate. I often reward myself rarely ever reward myself, but sometimes it's necessary!!

LOVE that tank!! I workout before said celebration and try (key word try, because I fail anyway but at least there was effort) to stick to trying a little bit of everything (is that moderation? no? ok) I have to have something sweet after every meal so I find that when I don't deprive myself and eat a small dessert, I dont really over indulge. (for the most part, there are always weekly exceptions!)

Ah congratulations!! Thats so cool and that top is fab! Erm moderation... I hate that word! I'm an extremist so I really struggle with it, all or nothing, go big or go home... unfortunately this normally means 5 bottles of wine rather than 1 or all the homemade biscuits rather than a more socially acceptable 2! Oops! I'm working on it?! ;) It does mean i'm an extremist in the gym too... that has to count for something right?! :)

Congratulations on being the new representative! I love that cross over tank top :) No one said you can't look cute and hard core at the same time!
Ah yes, moderation. I'm working on it....
I've done extreme either way - binge city or diet city. Now I'm working on the middle road and I am a whole lot happier.
Now it's about enjoying life, whether that means cookies or wine or if it means busting out 10km with my little sister.
It's all about joie de vivre right?

Congrats!! That is awesome, I'm totally envious! :) I think you do a great job of balancing the healthy with the occassional indulgence - and that's what "healthy" is to me. Not feeling deprived, going for a treat here and there and balancing that with healthy eats the majority of the time, and working out like a fiend as usual. My weakness is wine...chocolate...and pizza. See? I'm not perfect either ;-)

Ugh I try to find balance in everything, but honestly I love desserts and love GOOD FOOD, so if I am out to dinner or at a friend's house and something drool worthy (cough*cough*like that chicken up there) I will indulge and try not to feel too guilty - I went through a period of time when I limited myself way too much and missed out on a lot...so I try not to go back to that place...

and BTW - CONGRATS!!!!! I will have to check out their site, like...now...

Just found your blog! I think I am mildly obsessed. How cool that you get to be an advocate for Titika! You're the perfect person for this!

Celebrations cause me to eat a LOT of desserts -- which I love, but can be somewhat detrimental to my waste. Whoops! :)
